Congress Theme
‘The International Higher Education Congress: New
Trends and Issues (UYK-2011)’, under the auspices of Abdullah Gül, will be hosted by
Turkish Council of Higher Education at Istanbul Swissôtel on May 27-29, 2011.
The purpose of the congress is to provide a unique international forum to
discuss foresights and new trends related to higher education both in Turkey and
in the world. It is also aimed to examine the basic problems and challenges of
higher education and bring some proposals regarding to these issues. This
scientific forum is expected to achieve applicable, innovative and strategic
perspectives in higher education through the exchange of cutting-edge
information based on the discussions of issues, trends, challenges, and
developments in the area of higher education.

Video recorded 5 minute short presentations should be uploaded until May 10, 2011. ▬ Please click this link to see guideline for uploading video. ▬ Please click the following link http://uzaktanegitim.istanbul.edu.tr/kongre_en/ in order to see an example of video uploading . ▬ To upload 5 minute-short presentation, please log in to http://connect.istanbul.edu.tr with your login name and password. On the other hand, there is an alternative way to record your 5 minutes short presentation. But in this alternative way you only record your voice. However, if you follow the above option for recording your presentation, you also have the chance of making visual video recording. For the second alternative way of recording (voice recorded narration), you may follow the guidelines in the following powerpoint file in order to record voice narration powerpoint presentation and you may use the below sample powerpoint presentation template. In this option, after you record voice narration powwerpoint presentaion, please sent it to uyk2011@yok.gov.tr. Please note that, those who do not upload or send their video recorded or voice recorded narration, will not inculuded in the congress program and also in the proceedings

There will be two type of presentations at the congress: (a) Papers accepted for the oral presentation: These papers will be presented in 15 minutes at the congress and there will be a 5 minute section for the questions and answers. It is adequate to prepare a 15 minute powerpoint presentation by the authors of these papers. You do not need to upload these presentations to the UYK2011 web site. Please bring your powerpoint presentation file recorded on a USB memory on the presentation day. (b) E-Presentation: Papers accepted for 5-minutes- video recorded short presentation. The author of these papers are supposed to prepare and record a 5-minute-video record by following the instructions listed on the congress web site. On the presentation day, there will be short presentation sessions in which the authors of these papers are supposed to answer the questions related with their presentations through recorded video presentations. The full text of the all presentations and e-presentations will be published in the congress proceeding and recorded in the USB memory if the authors register and participate the congress and also present their papers. The best papers will be considered to be published in the following journals.
